"Your face will look better than ever", they said.
Well ladies that was a DAMN lie.
Let me explain:
From the looks of my mother's completely clear face, I thought, “Sure why not.”
Ya'll, she CLEARY forgot to mention how painful it was.
By definition, an acne facial is a spa treatment that rids the skin of excess oils and stimulates circulation.
However, what I didn’t know is that what I got was not just an acne facial, but an acne facial EXTRACTION.
A facial extraction is a treatment that uses a needle to remove the all the gunk from your pores and should only be performed by a licensed professional. If not done professionally, it can leave MAJOR scarring. -_-
Let's have a flashback
For the record, I don't do pain.
After steaming my face, she used the smallest needle on God's green earth to open each individual pore and extract the gunk. Let me tell you: she got into EVERY pimple and EVERY blackhead I had. At one point, she showed me what she was pulling out, and I swear it was longer than anything I could ever imagine.
I winced in pain with every poke and could not wait for it to be over.
When she was finally done, my face was on FIRE and numb.
Both Faye and my mother told me the swelling would go down in a few days. Faye even recommended I come in two days later for more treatment.
I would be lying if I said my face didn't feel cleaner, however, I find that I still have the same dark spots as before. My mother is convinced I need another treatment, so I decided to search for reviews from people who had done the same thing.
I found this.
Oh, and this.
I'm not convinced.
Ladies, what do you think? Have you ever had one done? Was it worth it? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
